About Jennifer Tarle
Tarle Speech and Language was founded by Jennifer Tarle in order to empower individuals at all stages of life through better communication skills.
Jennifer is a Certified Speech Pathologist with over 12 years of experience in speech-related training and pathologies. Jennifer earned a BS degree and an MA degree in Speech Pathology. She is licensed in CA, IL, & OH, is certified with the State Boards of Education in IL and OH, certified by the IL early intervention system, holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA), &has earned several AHSA ACE Awards for continuing education.
Jennifer works with individuals from all walks of life and all age groups. She has and continues to work in a variety of settings that include: web based and group accent classes, nursing homes, home health, rehabilitation facilities, hospitals, public schools, day care centers, early intervention programs, training programs for parents and preschool staff on language enrichment, special education programs, and classrooms for children and young adults with autism.
Jennifer specializes in early intervention targeting the child's entire support group. Through play based therapy, she achieves positive outcomes in functional communication for young children and their families. With her school background, she helps the children transition into school based services to maximize their continued growth if needed. Jennifer is a self-published author of accent workbooks, audio CDs and DVDs. She distributes her books solely through the Accent Training section of this web site. Introductory and advanced classes on foreign accents are taught throughout the city of Chicago. Jennifer consults via the internet with clients in foreign countries. Jennifer is trained and certified in the Hanen Program, Pyramid Approach, TEFL, PECS and Compton PESL. As a frequent guest speaker on Golden Opportunities, a television show for seniors, she spoke on age related communication and swallowing issues.
Jennifer presented on coaching parents to provide language enrichment at the Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago, Near South Side Preventative Initiative Program Symposium. Teacher and parent training classes are presented year round. Jennifer is also a guest lecturer at Columbia College in Chicago.
